Wall Compatibility Guide
Your Best Results with our Magnetic Wall Decals
At Magic Made UK, we are committed to helping you achieve the best results with our magnetic wall decals. The type of paint on your walls plays a crucial role in the adherence of our decals.
Paint Types Not Compatible with Magic Made UK Decals
1. Stain-Resistant Paint:
These paints resist dirt and stains, making it challenging for decals to stick. Our decals will not adhere properly to these surfaces without wall preparation.
2. Air Purifying Paints
Natural paints that are made from lime, or predominantly lime based can cause issues too.
3. Textured Walls
Surfaces with a raised, patterned, or rough finish will present challenges for the adherence of our decals.
Potential Issues with Textured Walls
- Adhesion Problems - The uneven surface can prevent the decals from sticking properly, leading to peeling or falling off.
- Appearance - The texture may cause the decals to look uneven or distorted.
For optimal results, we recommend applying our decals to smooth, flat surfaces
4. Old/Cracked/Degraded Paintwork
Avoid using decals on deteriorating surfaces as sticking and unsticking may worsen the paint condition and cause the decals to peel off.
Harder-to-Stick Paint Types
Some paint brands known for their low-VOC and eco-friendly formulations may present adherence challenges.
Unsure About Your Wall Type?
If you are uncertain about the compatibility of your wall type, we are looking into selling boards alongside our decals. This will allow you to stick the Magic Made UK decal to the board and use command strips or Velcro stickers to attach it to the wall.
Anticipated Issues
Cosmetic Damages
Every space has its own history, and occasional cosmetic damages may occur during decal application or removal. A touch of sanding and repainting is usually the remedy.
Newly Painted Walls
Wait at least 30 days after painting before applying Magic Made UK decals.
